Ambergris Caye, Belize

Ambergris Caye, Belize is probably my favorite! The waters are warm, crystal clear blue and it's not overcrowded with tourists. Since it's a barrier island in Caribbean waters, you need to fly into Belize City and connect to San Pedro. San Pedro is only a half hour puddle jumper ride over. When you arrive, almost everybody around the airport is from a hotel to transfer you. You are usually transferred either by car or boat. Personally, I love visiting Belize in May because it's the perfect weather (80's and sunny). Generally, there is good weather all year around. Hotels vary depending when you go, but average from $250+/night. Totally worth it though considering most are on the beach! There are many different hotels that are family friendly and strictly for adults. Most hotels include snorkeling gear, kayaks and paddle boards. There is a range of things you can do such as zip lining, tours, cave tubing and scuba diving in the barrier reef. You can take a water taxi into the town of San Pedro for tourist shops and restaurants (you won't pay more than $10 for a plate of food). I also really loved the fact that Belize in general is not that popular so it's not overcrowded with tourists. It makes it easy to enjoy your surroundings even more without the chaos.
