Budget adventures for the would be traveller.

The world wide economic crisis has meant that many would be travellers have had to tighten the purse-strings and look closer to home to fill their adventurous needs. There a plenty of 'micro-adventures' that, with a little forethought and planning, can easily be achieved over a weekend and still quench your thirst for adventure. Even better, the possibilities are endless and unique to your desirers, limited only by your imagination! I recently set out to accomplish my very own 'micro-adventure' by attempting the Yorkshire three Peaks Challenge. Summiting the three highest peaks in Yorkshire in under 12 hours. Challenging? Yes. Adventurous? Yes. Enjoyable? Yes, yes, yes. Financially, with accommodation, travel and provisions included the micro-adventure cost less than a standard weekend of drinking and socialising. Has anyone else completed their very own micro-adventures? Or, even better, have any plans in the making? I would love to hear from you and share in your experiences.

  • This summer I completed with a friend my own micro-adventure. We toured a week around Salzburg to visit a lot of beautiful lakes and it was really worth for me because we slept in the car or at camping sites! I have a lot of plans for microadventures and i hope i can complete some of them even though i am so busy with my education at the moment and i also have to work during the summerholidays
